The West Orange Habitat for Humanity is hosting a new home dedication ceremony for four individuals next week.

The nonprofit, which brings people together to build homes, communities and hope, will welcome Shannon Ligon, Christina Carbajal, Danykqua, and Tiffany Mejia to their new Criswell Court neighborhood.

According to Habitat, each of the four women partnered with the organization to complete 200 hours of sweat equity, take financial literacy classes, save for an affordable down payment on their home and agreed to pay back a no-interest mortgage to Habitat.

"They have each worked incredibly hard to make their dreams of homeownership a reality and on this night we will celebrate each of them as we hand over the keys to their very own homes," the nonprofit said.

Ligon and her daughter, Neirah, 7, are excited to see their home completed.

“I have always been a dreamer," Shannon Ligon said. "I dreamed of graduating high school, and I did that. I dreamed of becoming a mom to a beautiful baby girl, and I did that. … all of you are helping yet another dream of mine come true, to become a homeowner.”

The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Criswell Court, 275 Center St.
