OCOEE A Winter Garden man is facing charges of vehicular manslaughter after police say he hit and killed two pedestrians in Ocoee on Friday, Nov. 2.
Tammer Magdy Mansour, 35, is accused of hitting and killing 54-year-old Richard Giannazzo and 55-year-old Diana Marie Cole around 10:50 p.m. on Silver Star Road, just west of North Cumberland Avenue. The victims sustained traumatic head injuries, according to police.
According to a police report, a 2004 Lincoln Aviator driven by Mansour struck Giannazzo and Cole, who were found dead on Silver Star Road. Bystanders told police he and his passenger had left the scene without stopping.
The report stated that witnesses flagged the vehicle down a short distance away, and Mansour and his girlfriend both fled on foot. Winter Garden and Ocoee police later found the couple near the intersection of Ocoee Apopka Road and Franklin Street.
Mansour’s girlfriend told police the two were leaving the Ocoee Founders’ Day Festival and headed to a friend’s house. Police determined the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash happened.
Mansour was arrested and charged with two counts of vehicular homicide with a failure to render aid. Records show that he was booked into the Orange County jail early in the morning on Saturday, Nov. 3, but has since been released on $10,000 bail.
According to the report, police conducted field sobriety tests for Mansour, as well as a blood sample following a warrant, but Mansour has not been charged with driving under the influence.
Court records show that Mansour has a history of traffic infractions and other criminal offenses.
