GAME FILM: Olympia girls hoops places second at tournament

ORLANDO — The Olympia Titans girls basketball team dropped an exciting contest to end the calendar year, falling to Palm Beach Garden, 60-57, in the championship of the Silver Bracket tournament at the Florida Prospects Christmas Invitational.

Olympia (13-4) could not recover on Wednesday night after the Gators (13-5) went on an 11-2 run in the fourth quarter after the score was tied at 46-46. The Titans would pull to within two points late in the contest, but after Palm Beach Gardens added a free throw a buzzer-beater to tie the game did not fall for Olympia.

Umesha Beckwith led the second place-Titans with 12 points, followed by 11 points apiece from Taylor Hair and Natalie France. Kayla Brown led the Gators with 19 points.

The contest took place at the City of Orlando's Downtown Recreation Complex.
