SoBo showcasing "She Sells Sea Shells"

To kick off the summer, the Winter Garden Art Association is offering its juried art exhibit, “She Sells Sea Shells,” featuring a gallery of new original works reflecting water, ocean and nautical themes. The exhibit’s opening reception, featuring artist Susan Steele Meyer, is set for 5:30-8 p.m. this Thursday, June 5, at the art center.

It runs from June 5 through Aug. 2 at 127 S. Boyd St. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.

Hannah Beth Neal, a Winter Garden resident and student from the University of Mobile Theater Company, in Mobile, Ala., will provide entertainment for the opening reception.

With summer rapidly approaching, the art association will offer “Sizzlin Summer at SoBo 2014” — seven weeks of themed art experiences and exploration for children in kindergarten through fifth grades.
