Winter Park High School bands will commence their 75th anniversary year with a fall concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Ann Derflinger Auditorium at Winter Park High School’s main campus. An all-Mozart concert will open the season for the Bach Festival Chorus and Orchestra on Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 19 at 3 p.m. at the Knowles Chapel on the Rollins College campus. The Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola, and Orchestra in E-flat Major will be performed with co-concertmasters Routa Kroumovitch-Gomez and Alvaro Gomez as soloists. On Thursday, Oct. 23, the Junior League of Greater Orlando will host its seventh annual Halloween Hustle 5K from 5 to 10 p.m. in Baldwin Park. This annual event includes a 5K Run/Walk, a Kids Fun Run and post-race festivities including carnival-inspired activities and live entertainment. Advance registration is $30 per adult and $35 at the event. Registration for the Kids’ Fun Run (children 12 and under) is $7 through Oct. 22 and $10 on race day. The Goldenrod Area Chamber of Commerce would like to invite all to come out for a very exciting 36th annual Goldenrod Festival & Parade on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 4755 N. Palmetto Ave. in Winter Park, at the Goldenrod Station off of Aloma Avenue and Goldenrod Road. The day will begin at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast. The fifth annual Pumpkin Run 5K starts at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Mead Botanical Garden. The fundraiser benefits the people of Haiti with health, education and economic development. On Sunday, Oct. 26, The Jewish Pavilion, an Orlando-area organization dedicated to supporting the elderly, will be holding its fifth annual Fall Festival to raise awareness and funds to support the elderly in the community. The event is in honor of Bunny Rosen, a long-time Orlando resident. The Jewish Pavilion Fall Festival and Walk includes a free bagel breakfast, entertainment, a health fair, activities for children, and dozens of vendors.
