GAME FILM: D.P., Ocoee square off in fall hoops action

The first day of practice for the 2014-15 boys basketball season is Monday, Oct. 27, but don’t think local programs are twiddling their thumbs in the meantime.

Several teams are participating in a recreation league put on by the City of Orlando this fall, with that league’s playoffs now underway. The boys from Ocoee and Dr. Phillips met on the hardwood this past Thursday, Oct. 16, in the quarterfinals of that tournament at the Dr. James R. Smith Neighborhood Center in southeast Orlando. 

Dr. Phillips scored the 64-43 victory to advances to the semifinals, which took place Tuesday after the time of publication.
