These Winter Garden “boys of summer” pose on what seems to be a warm day in the summer of 1945 or 1946.

School is perhaps not yet in session, so they’re probably determined to wring every last bit of fun out of their vacation. The mostly shoeless boys are Leroy Riffle, left, Steve Browder, Butch Powell, Johnny Rodgers, an unidentified boy, Dwight Harris, Jimmy Roper, Jimmy Crawford and Wayne Cook.
