OCOEE — The competition was fierce — and fun — as kids from Ocoee, ages 12-and-under, gathered Saturday morning for the city's "Easter Eggstravaganza" at the Jim Beech Recreation Center.
Before the Easter egg hunts began, families enjoyed a bounce house, refreshments from Kona Ice and Chick-Fil-A, and mingled with city employees including members of the Ocoee Police Department, Fire Department and Mayor S. Scott Vandergrift.
Once it was time for the competition to begin, though, the children were grouped into four separate hunts — ages 10-12, ages 7-9, ages 4-6 and age 3-and-under; with parents required to assist the youngest age group.
The eggs were plentiful, meaning every child who participated took home at least one egg — and a memorable start to the Easter weekend.
