GALLERY: Area football teams hit field for Kickoff Classics

Rain and lightning put a slight damper on the festivities, but high school football nonetheless got back underway on Friday night. Six of eight coverage area programs returned to the field for their respective preseason contests, with Legacy Charter having played a day earlier on Aug. 20 and CFCA instead holding an intrasquad scrimmage on its home field.

Several games in the Central Florida region were delayed significantly and/or shortened.
