Crash off Silver Star Road leaves two dead

OCOEE  A car careened off Lake Stanley Road around 9:40 p.m. Dec. 11 in the Ocoee area, leading to the death of its two occupants, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.

The driver -- Robert Hollis, 64, of Apopka -- lost control for an unknown reason while traveling northbound from Silver Star Road. His four-door car struck a tree with its left side, killing him at the scene and his passenger, Mahindra Hiralal, a 42-year-old Orlando man who died at Health Central Hospital.

Troopers are still investigating this crash. They have not determined whether intoxication was involved, but both occupants were wearing seat belts.
