The Olympia girls basketball team defeated the host West Orange Warriors on Thursday night, 37-31, in a game that was called with roughly a minute to play.
The contest was called after a series of minor verbal altercations between players and also one spectator.
The tense situation arose after West Orange was forced to finish the game with four players.
The Warriors, who dressed only six players, had one player who fouled out, meaning when Ciara Thompson went down with an injury with 1:58 to play, West Orange had just four players available. The Warriors were forced to foul multiple times in an effort to stay in contention, leading to the chippy exchange.
The win improved the Titans to 15-5 on the season. Olympia will now have a week off before hosting Boone on Jan. 15.
West Orange fell to 8-8 and will travel to Oak Ridge on Jan. 13.
