SunRidge Middle girls hoops completes impressive season

ORLANDO — The SunRidge Middle School girls basketball team concluded a remarkable season by placing second in Orange County after falling in the Orange County Public Schools Middle School Championship Game to Robinswood Middle, 32-22.

Although the Eagles came up short in their pursuit of a championship, the team — coached by Genette Williams — had an impressive season, compiling a 9-1 record just two years after finishing 1-5.

Kennedi Rodgers led SunRidge with 12 points in the final.

The Eagles are Rodgers, Sarah Placide, Angelina Castellanos, Christina Kline, Brianna Szymanski, Bryce Brozovich, Grace Reed, Faith Stephen, Alondra Figueroa, Amaya Ugarte, Grace Garrison, Brianna Ibarra, Chloe Minor, Ashton Conan, Christina Cummings, Mikayla Blosmo and Natalie Gordon.
