Now in its 13th year, the Relay For Life of Dr. Phillips—– winner of the 2015 Nationwide Relay For Life Online Engagement Award — will kick off the 2016 season at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 4851 S. Apopka-Vineland Road, Orlando.
This event is open to the Orlando communities of Dr. Phillips, International Drive, Metrowest and Millenia. The volunteers will provide event information, and there will be activities, prizes and complimentary food. Leaders will be there to assist with participant enrollment and answer questions.
The 2016 Dr. Phillips Relay takes place Friday, April 8, at the Dr. Phillips High School field. Teams take turns walking a track overnight to raise funds to support American Cancer Society’s mission of research, education, advocacy and service. Students are able to earn volunteer hours toward programs like Bright Futures Scholarships.
