METROWEST Pinocchio and friends made their grand debut at Piaget Academy in MetroWest Wednesday afternoon during the school’s rendition of the famous Disney animated fantasy film. Students and staff performed in a makeshift theater in the school’s playground area as parents, friends and family watched.
The plot follows a wood-carver named Geppetto who carves a wooden puppet named Pinocchio. The puppet, whose nose grows every time he lies, is brought to life by a blue fairy. With the help of Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio embarks on a journey to become a real boy by proving himself to be "brave, truthful, and unselfish.” Throughout the journey, Pinocchio runs into myriad villainous characters and faces the challenges of a hostile world.
