Boys volleyball: Olympia tops DP 3-1 in district semifinal

DR. PHILLIPS Luke Allmond had 15 kills and six blocks to go along with Robbie Knight's 35 assists as the Olympia Titans topped rival Dr. Phillips 3-1 (25-19, 25-18, 24-26, 25-20) in the semifinals of the District 4 Tournament.

The victory avenged a 3-2 loss to the Panthers earlier this season on March 31.

With the win, the Titans (17-4) move on to the district final tomorrow against Bishop Moore at 7 p.m. The game will be played at Dr. Phillips, which is hosting the tournament. The winner of the district final advances to a play-in game for the state tournament.

Dr. Phillips concluded the season with a 18-8 record. It was the final season for veteran coach April Ball, who completed her career with an impressive 309 wins.
