Five Pop Warner Football teams went face-to-face starting in 2005 in what would become the annual Dog and Cat Bowl in West Orange County.

The Ocoee Bulldogs and the Winter Garden Wildcats vied for a special trophy to be presented to the league winning at least three out of the five games.

The winner displayed the trophy in its concession stand for a year before having to compete to keep it the following year.

“We decided to have this post-season bowl between Ocoee and Winter Garden as a fun event to close out our season,” said Russell Crouch, president of the Winter Garden Youth Football League. “It is in no way a grudge match, only a friendly competition.”
