The Big Easy participating in flood relief drive

During this week, West Orange residents can bring items to the restaurant.

The Big Easy is among Central Florida collection sites participating in a flood relief drive for victims of Louisiana flooding. 

After excessive raining in flooding in Louisiana during the past month, thousands of families have been displaced from their homes. In order to help flooding victims, The LSU Alumni of Central Florida has organized a collection. 

Items will be collected during this week. The items will be distributed by the LSU Alumni Association and the East Baton Rouge Fire Department. 

If possible, people are asked to bring items in plastic bins with lids, to aid in the shipping process.

Items needed:

Clean, gently used clothing and shoes

Latex and work gloves

Large trash bags, 

Large plastic bins with lids 

Flashlights and batteries 

New or gently used children’s books

Small toys 

Diapers and wipes

Baby formula

Baby food 

Pet food and kitty litter

New sheets, blankets, towels, paper towels, sponges and rags

Non-perishable food items and snacks

New, boxed small appliances 

First aid kits

Toiletries

Mops, push brooms, buckets, bleach and dawn dish liquid

Bring items to The Big Easy, 15502 Stoneybrook West Parkway, Winter Garden.
