Summerport Village to host end-of-summer bash

Summerport Village's end-of-summer bash will feature live music, a movie showing, food trucks and more.

HORIZON WEST  Summer is slowly coming to an end, and that means one thing: It’s almost time for local students to go back to school.

Summerport Village will be hosting an end-of-summer bash on Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Lakefront Farmer’s Market. The free event includes family-friendly fun, including live music, food trucks and more.

Vendors featuring camps, classes and other after-school activities will be in attendance. Additionally, at dusk Florida Film Academy will be showing the movie “Home,” an animated science-fiction film that follows the adventures of an alien race invading planet Earth. When the “Boov” aliens invade the planet, a girl named Gratuity “Tip” Tucci escapes capture and goes on the run with Oh, a fugitive Boov.

Guests can also grab food from any of the following food trucks: 900 Degreez Pizza, Bella Tuscany Ristorante Italiano, Caketeer, Caro-Bama BBQ, Cricketers Pub, Chicken Waffle Grill, El Cactus Azul, French Fry Junction, Lee’s Famous Cheesesteaks, Monsta Lobsta, Peru Power and What's Shakin?

Additionally, 33 & Melt will be open and serving drinks along with live music on the patio.
