Independence Elementary School fifth graders gathered for an awards ceremony Monday, June 6 celebrating their graduation from elementary school.
The fifth graders spent their final year of elementary school at the newly-opened school. The faculty gave each student a medal for successfully completing fifth grade, as well as awards for special areas, like art and music. Jacob Butler was honored with the star performer award for faithfully continuing his safety patrol duty after personal hardship.
Three different ceremonies were held for the fifth graders.
