WINDERMERE Friends, family and the Windermere community gathered at the Windermere Town Hall Tuesday evening for a service in memory of Windermere Police Officer Robbie German’s shooting death two years prior. Special guests included Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings and the German family. Mayor Gary Bruhn opened the ceremony, followed by remarks from Windermere Police Chief David Ogden.
Robbie’s father, Tim German, spoke to the crowd about who Robbie was as a son and hero. In lieu of candles, guests lit up blue glow sticks for a time of reflection. Additionally, the German family set a wreath of flowers on Robbie’s memorial.
