WINDERMERE Hundreds of children of all ages and their parents took to the Windermere Town Hall Saturday morning for an hour of Easter fun. The festivities began at 10 a.m. with a parade led by the Easter Bunny, Mayor Gary Bruhn and Dep. Chief Jennifer Treadwell over to the Town Hall, where three roped-off areas — split into age groups 0-3, 4-6 and 7-9 — filled with scattered Easter eggs awaited the kids. Upon opening the eggs, children were treated to candy, small toys and even small amounts of cash.
First Baptist Church of Windermere also donated two bicycles per age group, and children who picked up an egg with the winning tickets in them won a bike or a special Easter basket. Additionally, the Easter Bunny was on hand to take photos with, and cupcakes and lemonade were served after the egg frenzy.
