METROWEST Along with its 30th anniversary, the MetroWest community is now celebrating the honor of being named a leader in crime prevention.
MetroWest Master Association was honored at the Annual Neighborhood Watch Leaders Forum held by the Orlando Police Department Thursday at Harry P. Leu Gardens. The ceremony recognized communities for the success of their crime-prevention and neighborhood-watch programs in 2015, and MetroWest was given the Crime Prevention Leadership Award.
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orlando Police Chief Mina and Orlando City Commissioners were in attendance, and each commissioner honored a neighborhood-watch captain in his or her district. For District 6 — MetroWest’s district — Madeleine Francois from MetroWest Unit V was honored.
“MetroWest is proud to receive such a distinction and consistently works towards making our home a connected and protected environment,” the association wrote on Facebook.
