George Dewinton Nash Beck, 90, of Windermere passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 19, 2016. He was born July 24, 1926, in Winter Garden, son of the late W.L. and Mattie Beck.
He graduated from Lakeview High School then served in the U.S. Navy in communications until 1946. After discharge, he attended and graduated from the University of Florida. He married Leslie Stewart in July 1960, and they had two sons.
He was a lifelong citrus and foliage grower, as well as a cattleman.
He is survived by his two sons, Mark (and Kaye) Beck of St. Cloud, Florida, and Glenn (and Peggy) Beck of Windermere, Florida; grandchildren, Wade (and Lauren) Beck of St. Cloud, Ryan (and Laura) Beck of Winter Garden, Brittany (Beck) and Drew Rempp of Montezume, Iowa, Lauren (Beck) and Zach Langford of Lake Wales; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Harper Becker of St. Cloud, Cole Beck of Winter Garden, Will and Parker Rempp of Iowa and Brayden and Scarlett Ann Langford of Lake Wales.
George is preceded in death by his wife, Leslie; sister, Muriel; and brother, Charles. Survived by brother John L. Beck and sister Aileen Dorman.
Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at Woodlawn Cemetery.
