The West Orange relief high school is now officially named Windermere High School.

The Orange County School Board voted for the name after gathering input from parents after several months throughout the school year. After a series of surveys from parents and the school community, involved community members submitted three names: Windermere High School, Horizon High School and Lake Butler High School. Windermere High School had the most votes.

Next, the district will select the mascot and colors after reviewing input from the community.

The school, located on Winter Garden Vineland Road in Horizon West, will relieve overcrowding at West Orange High School. It is set to open for the 2017-18 school year.
