Two things to watch for tonight at the Ocoee City Commission meeting:

City Center West Orange

The final site plan for phases one through three and development agreement for City Center West Orange comes before the Ocoee City Commission.

City Center West Orange is a mixed-use project south of Maine Street, east of Bluford Avenue and north of West Colonial Drive. The plans include retail, restaurants, housing and a hotel.

Updating Special Overlay Areas

Redevelopment within the city of Ocoee has caused the city to seek to update regulations in its special overlay areas, with will allow landowners in these areas to coordinate on the development in these areas.

The overlay areas include interchange impact areas, the downtown redevelopment area and activity centers.

City staff asks for the commissioners to approve a moratorium on accepting and processing of applications for fast food restaurants, check cashing stores, self-storage facilities, vehicle and tire service, sales and repair facilities and discount retail stores. This will allow staff to evaluate the areas and update regulations as needed.
