APOPKA The Apopka varsity volleyball team topped its crosstown rival Wekiva Tuesday night, earning its second victory in district competition in the process.
The Blue Darters (5-3, 2-1 district) swept the Mustangs, 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-19).
Alexa Barrel had six kills and three blocks for Apopka to pair with Kayla Tapscott's five kills and three service aces.
Wekiva (2-5, 1-2 district) was led by Nakeria Henderson's seven kills and four digs along with three kills and 10 digs from Katie Lange.
For Apopka: The Blue Darters will travel to Ocoee (0-5) Wednesday, Sept. 14, for a non-district match.
For Wekiva: The Mustangs will host West Orange (4-1) Thursday, Sept. 15, in a district match.
