APOPKA The host Wekiva Mustangs struck first against the Timber Creek Wolves in a battle of two of Central Florida's better varsity football squads, but were unable to score again in a 19-7 defeat Sept. 16.
Jaylon Fair got the Mustangs (2-2) on the board in the first quarter, but a staunch Wolves defense kept the Wekiva offense at bay the rest of the way.
On defense, Renardo Green had an interception for the Mustangs.
Peter Hayes-Patrick had one rushing touchdown and one receiving touchdown for Timber Creek (3-1).
For Wekiva: The Mustangs will face another stiff challenge in Week Five when they host Winter Park (3-1) for their Homecoming game.
