Winter Garden lifeguards take first place at Lifeguard Games

A team of Winter Garden lifeguards took first place overall Sept. 17 at the Lifeguard Games in Tampa.

Chase Greene, Shelby Wood, Victoria Gracey, Rachel Reid, Matt Reid, Jack Rossy, Jack Conenna and Madison Upson competed at the games, which are sponsored by the Florida Aquatics Council.

Teams competed in six events, and Winter Garden won first place overall in the competition. The lifeguards were invited to compete by the Florida Aquatics Council. 

Winter Garden lifeguards participate in an in-service training every week, to ensure they are continually trained on best practices.
