Winter Garden Farmers Market sweeps categories in the American Farmland Trust’s Farmers Market Celebration

The Winter Garden Farmers Market swept all categories in the American Farmland Trust’s Farmers Market Celebration.

The celebration, which ran June 20-Sept. 21, sought to raise awareness about shopping at farmers markets and supporting family farmers. 

As part of the celebration, people around the nation were encouraged to review their local farmers markets. Farmers markets were included in the list if they are on the USDA’s list of farmers markets. 

Winter Garden won the People’s Choice award, as well as all other categories: Focus on Farmers, Healthy Food for All, Pillar of the Community and Champion for the Environment. 

The Orlando Farmers Market at Lake Eola placed second in People’s Choice, Healthy Food For All and Pillar of the Community and third in Focus on Farmers and Champion for the Environment.
