OCOEE The Apopka Blue Darters (14-9) turned in an impressive performance Apr. 25, dismantling the Ocoee Knights in a 15-2 win that lasted just five innings.
Bubba Sangster put Ocoee (17-7) up 2-1 in the bottom of the first inning with a two-run home run, but Apopka responded in the top of the second with a three-run homer from Garrett Evans, and a two-run home run from Brandon Ussrey, to go up 6-2.
The Blue Darters scored seven more runs in the third inning and went on to run-rule the Knights in five innings.
Evans went 3-4 with three RBIs and a run scored for the Blue Darters, while Sangster went 2-3, driving in the only two runs for the Knights with his home run in the first inning.
Apopka's Cameron Stewart threw a complete game, giving up just the two runs, and struck out four.
Both teams will be back in action on Thursday for their senior nights, with Apopka hosting Mount Dora and Ocoee hosting Celebration.
