In the only preseason game before the regular season kicks off next week, the Hornets found themselves in a good position against the visiting Wolves from Timber Creek. Offensively and defensively, the Hornets outplayed the Wolves in every aspect of the game. Offensively the Hornets outscored the Wolves 235 to 103, while the defensive was stout – though they did give up 79-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. The freak touchdown would be the only points the Hornets would give up, as they went on to seal the 27-17. Despite the win, the Hornets limped away a bit, as star senior running back Trilion Coles left the game in the second quarter with an apparent right ankle injury. The Hornets will now look ahead to next week, where they'll travel to Edgewater.
