OCOEE A seven-point lead at halftime and a five-point lead at the end of the third quarter would not be enough for the Ocoee Knights in the opening round of the Great Eight Tournament — an annual holiday tournament hosted by Ocoee High.
The Knights were outscored by Wisconsin's Franklin High Sabers 27-12 in the final quarter, ultimately falling 63-53 and thus moving into the consolation bracket of the tournament.
Franklin's Max Alba scored a game-high 25 points and Zak Klug chipped in 17 points for the Sabers (7-1).
Ocoee was led by three scorers in double-digits: Derrick Rucker and Caleb Gordon each had 11 points and Sadeem Blake had 10 points for the Knights (4-5).
