Halfway through the dance, the DJ held a hula-hoop contest for the girls.
The dads had their own hula-hoop contest to determine who was the best hula hooper among them. The winner was Ben Allen, left.

WINTER GARDEN More than 300 fathers and their daughters came out to the Lake Whitney Elementary School’s annual Sweetheart Dance on Friday, Feb. 10, at Tanner Hall.
The theme of the evening was Mardi Gras. After snacks were dished out, the dancing got underway with a variety of line dances, slow dances and a series of sing-along songs for the girls.
