Baseball: Lions win in walk-off fashion -- Observer Preps

WINTER GARDEN One minute it looked like the Foundation Academy baseball team had let a victory slip through its fingers.

A few minutes later, the Lions were celebrating in the waning sunlight.

Foundation Academy surrendered a two-run lead in the top of the seventh inning Feb. 23 against Central Point Christian Academy. In the bottom half of the inning, with the game in danger of being called due to lack of sunlight, Miguel Gonzalez hit a walk-off single to drive in Cory Rahman for the 5-4 victory.

Tyler Kousaie pitched a complete game for the Lions on the mound.

Foundation Academy is 2-3 so far this season.
