Obituary: Marcella Boettcher

Edna Marcella Boettcher, 78, of Ocoee, Florida, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017, at Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Florida.

Marcella was born Dec. 28, 1938, in Marion County, Florida, and was the daughter of the late Richard Harold Ledward and Edna Marcella Ledward.

After Marcella graduated from Miami High School, she married her husband, Jerry Boettcher, and they had a son and daughter. She and her family moved to Ocoee, Florida, in 1977. 

She worked at a couple places before landing a civil service job with the U.S. Department of Navy, where she later retired after 30-plus years. She then became a school crossing guard in Ocoee, Florida, in 2006 and remained a school crossing guard until 2016.

She was a loving and welcoming mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved being with family and enjoyed family gatherings. She also loved doing and caring for others. She was always there if you needed to talk; she was a great listener.

Marcella’s memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Real Life, 1501 Steve’s Road, Clermont, FL  34711.
