Auditions announced for the Garden Theatre's 2017-18 season

WINTER GARDEN The Garden Theatre recently announced the audition dates for its first three shows of the 2017-18 season. These shows are “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “The Odd Couple” and “Annie.”

Auditions will be held on Monday, May 1, Tuesday, May 2, Wednesday, May 3, and Tuesday, May 9.

Young female actors between the ages of 8 and 15 who are auditioning will be scheduled for a time between 5 and 7 p.m. on Monday, May 1, Tuesday, May 2, and Wednesday, May 3.

Adult actors will be scheduled for an audition time between 7 and 11 p.m. on Monday, May 1, Tuesday, May 2, Wednesday, May 3, and Tuesday, May 9.

Adult actors must prepare two 16-bar vocal selections including one rock song and one classic musical theatre piece. Young female actors must prepare one 32-bar classic musical theatre song.

Actors auditioning for “The Odd Couple” are not required to sing during their audition and must instead prepare a 60-second monologue.

“Jesus Christ Superstar” will be directed by Rob Winn Anderson with rehearsals from Aug. 7 to Sept. 7 and performances from Sept. 8 to Oct. 1.

Rehearsals for “The Odd Couple” will take place from Sept. 18 to Oct. 12 with performances from Oct. 13 to Oct. 19.

Rehearsals for “Annie” will be held from Oct. 23 to Nov. 24 and performances from Nov. 25 to Dec. 23.
