ORLANDO Like clockwork, the Apopka softball team scored a pair of runs in each of its first three at-bats to create a 6-0 lead it would not relinquish Monday evening.
The Blue Darters ultimately defeated the host The First Academy Royals, 8-1, in a non-district game.
Jaden Lindroth had a pair of hits for the Blue Darters and Makayla Fisher went 3-for-4 at the plate. Emma Miller got the win on the mound for Apopka (9-6).
For the Royals (7-7), Cassidy Steiner had the lone RBI of the game.
