The Metro Conference announced its final standings in baseball, its All-Metro East and West teams and other recognitions May 5, with several local players receiving some much deserved attention.
In the Metro Conference's West division, West Orange baseball placed first out of the nine teams. Olympia placed second, Dr. Phillips placed third, Apopka placed fourth and Ocoee weighed in at No. 5 to round out the top portion of the standings.
Dr. Phillips head coach Mike Bradley was recognized as the West division's Coach of the Year for coaching a young Panthers' squad to a No. 1 seed in its district tournament last week and a playoff berth.
Apopka's Brandon Ussery was recognized with the West division's Academic Award.
The All-Metro West division team includes the following players, categorized by school:
