WINDERMERE Two of the best teams in the Sunshine State Athletic Conference met Thursday afternoon in a battle for first place in the Coastal League's Central Division.
After the teams exchanged touchdowns early on, producing a 7-7 tie, the Windermere Prep Lakers went on a 33-point swing spanning the second and third quarters and eventually defeated the Orangewood Christian Rams 47-20.
Turnovers were a big theme, as the Windermere Prep defense caused and recovered five of them.
The victory improve the Lakers to 6-0 on the season ahead of their Homecoming Game next week against Santa Fe Catholic.
Orangewood drops to 4-2 overall and will play Cornerstone Charter Oct. 20.
