Homer Horace Craig, 81, of Winter Garden, FL, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018. Homer was born March 30, 1937, in Canfield, Ohio, to the late Russell Leroy and Jessie Florence Clay Craig.
After moving to Florida, he attended Edgewater High School.
Homer served his country as a member of the United States National Guard. He owned several businesses over his lifetime, attended First Baptist Church of Winter Garden and was an avid Florida Gator fan.
Homer is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Dorothy Padgett Craig; son, Brian Craig; daughter, Tina Freeman (Ric); grandchildren, Richard Freeman Jr. (Cherie) and Joshua Freeman; siblings, Dean Craig (Margaret), Russell Craig (Martha), Alice Spilliard (David); great-grandchildren, Shyanne, Colton and Kimber; sister-in-law, June Ashley; five nephews and six nieces.
He is predeceased by his parents; sister, Sue Shriver (Maurice); and a nephew and a niece.
A funeral service with military honors was held Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Winter Garden, with interment at Winter Garden Cemetery.
