In front of a packed crowed at Showalter Field, the Wildcats (1-0) started the season off in a big way as they thrashed Lake Nona (0-1) in a 48-7 win.
Though offensively the Wildcats started out a bit slow — scoring just a field goal in the first quarter — the defense stepped up its game with a 40 yard pick-6 to make it 10-0.
From there, the Wildcats' offense exploded for 45 unanswered points through the next three quarters, before the Lions were finally able to find the end zone with a little over six minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Next up for the Wildcats is a home matchup with Oviedo (1-0) next Friday, Aug. 31.
