During the Windermere Prep Hoopfest on Saturday, Dec. 15, The First Academy lost in a 55-53 nail biter to Lakewood Ranch.
After being up by double-digits through the first half, the Royals (2-4) fell victim to a strong second half showing by the Mustangs (4-0, 2-0). A last gasp three-pointer by the Royals — which would have tied the game — came up short.
Kam Summers led the Royals with 20 points (15 of which came off of five three-pointers), while Kayne Jones added 13 points.
