The Olympia and Dr. Phillips girls basketball teams met twice this season — with two rather different results.
Back on Dec. 14, early in the regular season, Dr. Phillips coasted to a 49-36 victory.
But when it mattered most and a playoff berth was on the line in the FHSAA Class 9A, District 5 Semifinals, it was Olympia that scored the 48-27 victory Wednesday night to earn a spot in Friday's district title.
Chenoa Johnson scored a game-high 18 points and Shadaria Smith added 13 points on the night for the Titans (8-19).
The Titans will face Oak Ridge (14-12) at 7 p.m. Friday in the district final, with home-court advantage in next week's regional quarterfinals on the line — in addition to a district championship trophy.
