Winter Garden police officers are searching for the man they believe stole a vehicle with a 4-year-old girl still sitting inside it.

According to police reports, at about 2:35 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, the victim stopped at the Cash Stop Pawn, 13245 W. Colonial Drive, Winter Garden. He left his 4-year-old daughter in the back seat with the car running.

The victim watched a white male in an orange shirt walk in and out of Cash Stop Pawn, eventually entering the victim’s car and driving away. The victim chased after the car on foot.

The car was located a short time later in the entrance to Regal Point subdivision, and the child was located unharmed. The child advised she was not touched, and the suspect ran after realizing she was in the car. The child has been reunited with her family.

Detectives are working leads on the suspect. If anyone has information to provide about this investigation, contact the police department at (407) 656-3636 or Detective Josh Earley, (407) 656-3636.
