SOUTHWEST ORANGE Some were sweet and some were savory or salty, but each kugel entered in the Rosen JCC’s Kugel Kook-Off brought its unique, palate-pleasing qualities to the table. Held on Thursday, Sept. 20, the cook-off featured nearly a dozen varieties of kugel, prepared by contest entrants. Those in attendance sampled each kugel and cast their vote for the most creative kugel and the overall best kugel. Winners were Stephanie Levine and Dr. Phyllis Bochman, respectively.
