Five thousand plastic eggs filled with candy and prizes were scattered around Newton Park in Winter Garden on Saturday, April 20, for the Winter Garden Lions Club’s 68th annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Despite the chilly breeze coming off Lake Apopka, hundreds of children lined up in their respective age groups and waited for the go-ahead to pick up as many treat-filled eggs as possible. Easter baskets were presented to the children who found the coveted golden egg.
The Winter Garden police and fire rescue departments brought their vehicles for children to tour.
