On a chilly night at the Spoone, Dr. Phillips (12-2-3) notched its second district title in four years as the Panthers blanked visiting Apopka 2-0 on Thursday, Jan 31.
Despite being out-possessed by the Blue Darters (12-5-1), the Panthers found pay dirt in the 25th minute when senior Belle Robinson blasted a ball into the back of the net. Jill Ross would double the lead with under four minutes to play with her own goal to make it 2-0.
The win pushes the Panthers to the regional quarterfinal where they'll face Lake Mary (10-3-1) on Tuesday, Feb. 5.
