Another year, another district title for the West Orange girls basketball team, as the Warriors took down Wekiva in a 50-39 win on Thursday, Feb. 7.
West Orange (22-4) went into halftime tied up at 25-25 following two quarters of blow-for-blow play with the Mustangs (21-6). Fortunately for West Orange a 14-2 run to start the second half opened the game up, and the Warriors took the lead for good.
Senior Morgan Beacham led the way for the Warriors with 23 points, while freshman Paris Pickett contributed 14 points herself.
Next up for the Warriors will be either Timber Creek or Colonial in regional quarterfinal play on Thursday, Feb. 14.
