For the second year in-a-row the CFCA Eagles will travel to Lakeland to compete in the state semifinals following an intense 61-52 win over Victory Christian Academy (20-8) in the Class 2A regional final on Tuesday, Feb. 26.
In front of a loud crowd at the gym on campus, the Eagles (19-10) fought tooth-and-nail to a 22-22 tie in the first half, before a back-and-forth second half saw an explosion of offense.
Led by Jordan Preaster's 27 points — 16 of which came in the second half — and Bryce Street's 15 points (all of which came off of five three-pointers), the Eagles exchanged multiple lead changes with the Storm in the final minutes. It wasn't until the last 30 seconds that the Eagles pushed their lead to five points, before hitting a few free throws to seal up the win.
The Eagles will have a few days to rest up, before they head to Lakeland to take on Crossroad Academy (21-8) in the state semis on Monday, Mar. 4.
