Obituary: Elvira "Vera" Spiros Horne

Elvira “Vera” Spiros Horne, 83, of Orlando, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019. Ms. Horne was born on Dec. 11, 1935, in Texarkana, Arkansas.

She was raised in Chicago, Illinois, by her uncle, Cruz Torrez, and aunt, Ester Vasquez. She moved to Central Florida in the winter of 1964. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Spiros; mother, Sapopa Vasquez; brothers, Clement James Spiros, Gus Spiros, Ralphy Spiros; sister, Mary Saldavar; son, Richard Lee Horne; and daughter, Laura Gene Bird.

Survived by brothers, Alfred Spiros, Rudy Spiros, Johnny Spiros; sons, Dean Alan Horne and wife, Antonia Amor, Chris Horne and wife, Gwen; daughter, Melissa Lynn and husband, Dean Joseph Hubbard; granddaughters, Kristen Renee Hubbard, Deanna Nicole Hubbard, Mary Deanna Horne and her sons, Skylar and Mikenz, and her daughter, Kayleigh; grandsons Jordan Tyler Hubbard and Vincent Ian Bird.
